Munday's Thought - 6th August

Monday was our movie debut as we took part in a DVD to launch our opening! Jamie our assistant MPW manager took a star role! Over the weekend we welcomed a number of celebrities, we are certainly fast becoming the place to be seen!

The whole we saw Matt our head chef on holiday so I think well worth me thanking my great kitchen team for a very busy week. Thanks guys!

Was nice to see my sister and her kids on Wednesday and Thursday. They took the trip north to visit me. Was great to show my family around my new baby.

Saturday saw us hosting the Olympic ticket collection for IHG staff, we had over 100 people enjoying food and drink before watching the football at St James Park.

The night was more of a challenge as we saw a small animal rights protest form outside the hotel. This was handled well by police and my security staff. I totally accept people have different opinions but I don't believe a public protest affecting other peoples enjoyment is the way to handle it.

I took Sunday off and took the kids swimming which saw me going down a kids water slide. I have to say I was disappointed with the local pool, dirty old and in poor repair. In this anyway to get kids to stay active?
